Do You Need Help With Gut Issues?

As a component of my chronic fatigue syndrome I developed several gut issues including leaky gut. The main symptom of my poor gut health was incredibly bad stomach bloating that made me look about 5 months pregnant.

I could no longer fasten the top button of my jeans, and tracksuit pants with their forgiving elastic waist were becoming my best friend….Yikes! It seems, my previous good gut health had deserted me.

Looking for a product to help with my many gut issues I started using Nutra Life Gut Relief as recommended by my naturopath.

Not only did I have a leaky gut and horrible bloating, but I was also having difficulty with malabsorption issues due to my poor gut health and my body was unable to process the nutrients from my food properly.

So even though I was taking a range of vitamin and mineral supplements and making sure to eat a healthy organic diet, very little of this was actually providing any benefit to my system, as my gut couldn’t process the nutrients fully.

The Gut – Where Good Health Starts

The gut is increasingly becoming recognized as important to overall good health. It can also be the first place where problems become apparent in the form of heartburn, bloating, constipation, acid reflux and gas if your digestion is not working properly.

Your Hardworking Gut

Your body breaks down food into fuel which you use for energy, as well as for the repair of tissues. Nutrients and fuel from the food eaten needs to be properly absorbed for the overall healthy functioning of your body.

But if your diet consists mainly of refined food, meat, grains, conventional dairy products and sugar i.e., the standard Western diet, it is likely your intestines have an unhealthy coating of plaque.

This plaque has a negative effect on how nutrients from your food can be absorbed and utilized, which can result in undernourishment as your body is no longer able to absorb nutrients properly.

Another component of a healthy gut is elimination which is carried out via regular bowel movements. Drinking adequate water and eating enough fiber help assist with this process.

gut health supplements

A common component of poor gut health is leaky gut, which is a condition where the lining of the intestine has become damaged. This damage to the gut lining allows food particles to pass through the gut wall and into the bloodstream. When this happens your body sets up an autoimmune response to these foreign invaders.

The autoimmune response can be in the form of allergic or inflammatory conditions like arthritis, chronic fatigue, migraine, irritable bowel and more.

When you have a leaky gut, the damaged cells in your intestines no longer produce the enzymes needed for proper digestion. This results in your body being unable to absorb the essential nutrients. In turn, it can lead to a weakened immune system and hormonal imbalances.

    • Hi Jane

Thanks for commenting. My understanding of IBS is that it’s a name for a syndrome (as chronic fatigue syndrome is). It shows up as a collection of symptoms and can have many different causes. I’d recommend you find a good naturopath experienced in gut related illnesses, to find out why you are having these issues.

  2. Interesting review for Nutra Life Gut Relief. I’m confused, though, about chronic fatigue and gut health. Can you explain?
Is this powder similar to taking Fiber One and eating yogurt? How long before you noticed a change in your gut and is it something that must be taken every day or just when you feel sluggish?

    • Hi Karen thanks for your comments.

In my case I found my chronic fatigue syndrome had its root in problems with my gut. Leaky gut, dysbiosis, candida overgrowth and a parasite contributed greatly to my health issues. It took quite some time to heal all of the problems in my gut and I used Nutra Life Gut Relief as one of the supplements during my recovery which helped a lot. How long it takes before you notice a difference depends on your particular situation.

This powder is not fibre, it consists of various supplements as mentioned in my review, which help heal your gut lining and reduce inflammation. Of course eating plain unsweetened yoghurt containing live cultures can be beneficial to gut health as it helps supply the ‘good’ bacteria required for good gut health.

  6. Very interesting I will have to take a look at this I’ve recently been having a little bit of the bubble guts and would love to find a simple solution for this. Sounds like it’s an all natural supplement. Is it something you want to continue taking even after the symptoms are gone kind of as a maintenance or just while you are feeling the symptoms?

    • Hi Doc, thanks for your comments. I’m a bit unsure what you mean by ‘bubble guts’. I took this supplement for approximately a year whilst I was dealing with several gut issues, dysbiosis, leaky gut and parasites. I found it helped a lot to calm the inflammation and start healing while I adjusted my diet etc., too.

What are the effects of Nutra Life Gut Relief for IBS? Can it help this tiresome condition and if so, how effective is it?

    • Hi Chris, thanks for taking the time to comment. IBS is a catch all phrase used when doctors don’t know what is causing your gut symptoms. It would be a good idea to have some comprehensive testing carried out preferably by a naturopath to find out what could be causing your issues. I found Gut Relief worked to calm the inflammation I was experiencing from gut dysbiosis, leaky gut and parasites.

It doesn’t happen often to me but sometimes I also have bloated stomach and I have no idea why. Previously it was gas and I would drink drink Eno but lately, the recent ones are not really gas so I’m not so sure what cause my bloating stomach but if I were to guess, it may be acid or low metabolism. Does Nutra Life Gut Relief work for my case?

    • Hi Olonisakin thanks for your comments. I agree, many people have digestive issues but just kind of live with it thinking it’s their ‘normal’. Gut Relief can be very helpful along with taking a look at eating habits too of course.

  10. Good Morning Ann,

Leaky Gut is, what I would call, a modern time ailment. When we turned away from nature and started to eat man-made foods a lot of things went wrong. When I was younger my digestive system was not in order but now I know I can only blame myself.

Having changed the way I eat has helped considerably. I sometimes do a fasting cure of 9 days so the digestive system gets a rest and if necessary can heal itself. I do take Psyllium and potato starch every day in my coffee in which I also put black chocolate, cinnamon, etc. I call this my booster coffee.

That product you recommend looks like a good one. Ultra Life Gut Relief has many good ingredients and I am sure will be very helpful.

  11. Hello there,

I am thankful I found your post about Nutra Life Gut Relief. I always have this problem with bloating which I always thought was due to eating too much salty foods, but now I’m thinking it could be due to gut issues. Sometimes I would feel the food I’ve eaten hours ago still sitting in my stomach just not really going anywhere.

After reading your post I think I might give this a try, I don’t think the taste will bother me very much as I can just mix it with juice or something sweet. Thanks for the article.

    take care

I just tried your product the Gut Relief Nutra Life. After first drink, I feel bloating and nausea. Is it normal? Should I continue?
It reminds me the reaction I got when taking Mylanta syrup.
