What Is Mitochondrial Function?

In the average cell of your body, there are 100 to 500 mitochondria – power plants that churn out energy and support everyday tasks like walking, working, talking and more.     First of all I want to say that I have never seen an image of the anatomy of a cell. That is fascinating!

    I believe I have some form of chronic fatigue because I generally feel tired. I would like to attribute this to age (I am 65) but I have felt this way basically all my life.

    My guess is that one of the culprits is sugar and I am so glad you have pointed that out here. I keep trying to limit my intake of sugar but I take one step forward and two steps back.

    Per your suggestion, I do stay hydrated and I exercise regularly.

    If you have any suggestions on how I can “turn off” my sweet tooth that would be great.

    • Hi Christopher, Thanks for commenting. I hear you as I also have a sweet tooth. I find that sugar is very addictive and definitely has the effect of making me crave more once I have it in my body. It can take a few days for me of being completely sugar free before the cravings subside. In the past I’ve used chromium picolinate to take the edge off the cravings for a few days until my body adjusts. Once off sugar completely, it seems my body no longer craves it.
