What Is The Oxo Good Grips Tabletop Spiralizer?

It’s a good well-designed kitchen tool with sharp stainless steel blades that cuts both firm and delicate vegetables easily. You can make long vegetable noodles that don’t break apart., great when you’re craving your favorite spaghetti dish.

Making veggie noodles for cooking or to have raw in colorful salads is very easy with this spiralizer.

With the color coded blades you can make two thicknesses of spaghetti- like noodles, one skinny and one a bit thicker. You can also make a fatter ribbon style fettuccine- like noodle.

I generally use the thicker spaghetti like noodle blade. But, if you’re making noodles for an Asian style broth, the skinny noodles would probably work best.

This versatile spiralizer gives you the style of noodles that go with all your current favorite dishes. A transparent covered compartment that slides into the machine holds the three blades safely for easy storage. So you’re not scrabbling in the back of the cupboard trying to find all the parts for the machine before you start cooking.

There’s no time consuming or complicated set up with this spiralizer either. Simply slot in your selected blade, set your chosen vegetable in the holder, engage the grey suction lever and off you go.

The unique suction design on the base means it doesn’t wobble while you work, and stays steady on your kitchen bench giving it a really solid feel during use.

This spiralizer holds super tightly to my stone bench tops once the lever on the side is engaged to apply the suction fully. And when in use it doesn’t move around at all, even when spiralizing harder veggies like sweet potato.

It has a small grey soft rubber handle that you pull to get the suction to release when you are finished using the spiralizer and want to move it. The suction is so tight that you really need to pull this little release handle pretty firmly to get it to release its grip on the bench top.

Your chosen vegetable is held tight in the machine whilst you turn the handle and your noodles come out the other end very smoothly and quickly without any effort at all. There’s no need to apply heavy pressure to make the noodles, it’s surprisingly effortless.

Unlike many kitchen gadgets that you buy but end up not using, the Oxo Good Grips Tabletop Spiralizer is both easy and quick to use and very importantly, it’s super easy to clean. This gadget won’t end up languishing in your kitchen cabinets just taking up space.

There are no fiddly plastic parts to wash and store, however the blades are very sharp and care needs to be taken when cleaning them so you don’t cut your fingers.

An added bonus, if you’re like me and have a small kitchen with limited storage, all parts store within the machine itself and overall it takes up very little space.

I keep my Oxo Good Grips Spiralizer on the kitchen bench within easy reach and use it almost every day, it’s so quick and easy and it’s never a chore to clean it after you use it, even the blade that makes the thinnest noodles is no problem to clean.

Who Is The Oxo Good Grips Tabletop Spiralizer For?

Data shows that about 40% of people carry genes making them susceptible to gluten sensitivity. Nowadays, there are many people looking to cut gluten from their diets and that’s where a spiralizer comes in handy.

If you’re like me and love making delicious and fast one bowl pasta dishes. But you’re trying to cut carbs and/or gluten from your diet, making vegetable noodles is an easy and very healthy pasta alternative. You avoid the gluten and cut down on carbs but can still enjoy all of your favorite dishes.

Making noodles from veggies like sweet potato and zucchini means you can still enjoy a rich bolognese or beautiful fresh homemade pesto sauce without the gluten and high carb content you get from pasta noodles. Once you’ve made your spiralized vegetables of choice, try my authentic, and delicious pesto recipe.

Easily and quickly make a whole pile of veggie noodles and store them in the fridge for later use with this gadget.

It’s also quick and easy to spiralize vegetables like carrots for salad. Personally I hate shredding carrots the old way, in addition to being a pain to make, they end up being kind of limp and soggy and very unappetizing.

Unless you’re a chef, making super skinny julienne carrots using a chopping board and sharp knife is just way too time-consuming. But spiralized carrots retain a bit of crunchy texture and are so easy and quick to make.

You can make lots of colorful, fast, nutritious and visually interesting salads using a variety of different vegetables. Playing around with the different blades to suit the particular vegetables gives you a variety of shapes and textures. Fruit like pears and apples can also be spiralized for use in salads and pretty desserts.

How Much Does The Oxo Good Grips 3 Tabletop Spiralizer cost?

Honestly, it’s not the cheapest spiralizer out there, check out the latest price from Amazon below. But before I bought mine I shopped around and read reviews of various different spiralizers. So many cheaper models I read about had complaints of being flimsy, parts breaking very quickly and not remaining steady on the bench during use.

I don’t know about you, but one of my pet hates is gadgets and machines that don’t work as they should, or are too difficult to clean after using them.

It seems like such false economy to buy a cheaper priced item only to end up hating it because it doesn’t work easily and efficiently. Or even worse, it ends up at the back of a kitchen cupboard because you really dislike using it.

This Oxo Good Grips spiralizer isn’t one of those gadgets, you’ll find lots of different ways to use it helping you incorporate more vegetables into your healthy diet on a regular basis.

  1. The only thing that could make this tool not worth money is if you buy it and then don’t use it.
It seems like one well built and easy to use tools.
Sometimes it sure is worth spending a little extra money to get something that can really do the job. I have spent money on some tools which has then proved to be absolutely useless. These tools did not cost much buy thery were still expensive given the fact that I go nothing from them.
The Oxo Good Grips seems like something my wife would interested in. I will take a look at it.
    Thanks for a good review.

    • Hi Jojo Thanks for your comment. I agree, products are definitely not worth the money (whatever the price) if you don’t use them and they end up gathering dust at the back of the cupboard.

If you are in the market for a spiralizer, then I can definitely recommend the Oxo Good Grips one in my review. Mine is being well used, definitely not sitting in the cupboard gathering dust and adds greatly to my healthy gluten free way of eating.

  2. This spiralizer is really a good product. I love my pasta and having to cut down on my carb intake means, I won’t be able to have pasta as regularly as I want. However with a Wonderful product like the spiralizer,  I can make my veggies into spirals and use them just like pasta. I like it’s sturdy design and how it’s easy to clean. In my opinion, it’s really worth every cent, because it would serve the consumer for years. Thanks for sharing

  3. I had not seen this Oxo Good Grips 3-Blade Spiralizer until coming across your review of it today. I have been looking for some new kitchen equipment that would allow me to present food in a different way to add some freshness to my dinners, and this tool seems like a good candidate to add to my collection!

Added bonuses are that it is easy to use and clean. This is important to me, as I am lazy (kidding, but seriously these are factors for me!). It seems like it is ideal for making my own noodles which taste so much better (and you can use different vegetables).

Thanks for bringing this excellent gadget to my attention today, and I am going now to check out the sales page. Let’s see if they will deliver to Dubai (or offer it through their local subsidiary). This looks really handy and I look forward to having it in my kitchen soon!

    • Hi Dave thanks for leaving a comment. I’m with you on the importance of kitchen gadgets being easy to clean. Honestly, I have bought so many gadgets in the past that are now languishing in the back of a kitchen cupboard because they are just so difficult to either put together, or annoying and fiddly to clean. I think it’s one of the main reasons I love this spiralizer so much, using and cleaning it is just so easy….oh and it works really easily too.

  4. Thanks for your review on the Oxo Grips Table Spiralizer. Looking at the features I know its a good one. When  I wanted to get a Kitchen Spiralizer two years ago, I did a review online and ask some couples of friends which spiralizer would they recommend. Based on my review and answers I opted for Paderno World Cuisine Spiralizer Pro-4 Blade. Though more expensive, it has great features like the Oxo Good Grips you reviewed.  I would recommend the Oxo Good Grip based on your review

  10. This spiraliser looks perfect and from your review i think it may be a winner.

I am in that 40% of people who have a gluten intolerance and so its important to find tasty alternatives to wheat pasta.

I have been considering either purchasing the add on attachment spiraliser for my kitchenaiide (which is rather expensive) or purchasing a separate spiraliser that I can easily store in the cupboard.

Thanks for the insights into this OXO good grips tabletop spiraliser. Its well priced too!

    • Thanks for your comment. I think you will definitely like this spiralizer. It’s very easy to use, clean and store. I’m not sure what would be involved in using a spiralizer attachment with your Kitchenaid, it might be a little more complicated than this spiralizer. I’ve had mine for over a year and it gets almost daily use and is still going strong, so I agree it’s well priced for the quality.

  11. I tried a cheap version of this and was so disappointed. It didn’t work at all. I think it’s better, as you say, to spend a little more money on something that works, than less money on something you cannot use.

Have you tried cooking any of the spiralized vegetables? I’m thinking it would be cool to try to deep fry potatoes or sweet potatoes. Does it come with any recipes or fun ideas. I want to be able to do more than just raw veggies.

    • Thanks for your comments. I don’t deep fry the spiralized veggies but I cook them for a short time by placing them in the sauce I’m using, they naturally soften and cook a little during this process.

  13. I’ve been wanting to learn how to make our own vegetable noodles since we had them in Costa Rica this past winter!  I can’t quite remember what they were made of, but I’d been wondering how exactly to go about creating the noodles. I also like the idea of using this to add a little variety to the way that your vegetables are presented in your dishes. I feel like I have a good routine on how I chop veggies, but then it ends up looking the same every time. Variety is good!

  14. I love the sound of this Spiralizer! I didn’t know you could make noodles from zucchini; I’m going to seriously look into that, now. I have a wheat allergy, so I have to avoid regular pasta. I love the way the spirals look; it’s like they just came out of a restaurant kitchen. You are right. It is pricey, but for the benefits, it is definitely worth the cost. This is going on my Christmas list! Along with some zucchini. 🙂

  16. Well that was a very informative post about the spiralizer and lots of information that I never knew.  I just got diagnosed with celiacs disease and can’t believe that you can take and make noodles out of vegetables like this.  Can you use like peppers and do they need to be a solid vegetable?  I am looking into buying this very soon as it seems like it will be a good and cheap option for salads and noodles.  Great information and I will be saving this website for the future for more products like this.  Thank you for adding this to your website.

  17. I think this is a great little gadget for any kitchen.  What a great fun way to add extra veggies to one’s diet.  I especially like the spaghetti idea.  My wife makes the best regular pasta baked (with yummy cheese) spaghetti.  I think it would be just as good made with these spiral veggies.

More fun, better for you, gluten-free, low cal… What could be better?  Could make a vegetarian out of me yet, Ann.

    Great idea,

  18. Hello Ann,

I like the idea of the spiralizer as it would cut down on my chopping time when I prepare my vegetables. I am not a high carb or pasta kinda person because I am a type 2 diabetic. I definitely like the idea of the low maintenance and easy to use design, who wouldn’t.

As long as this machine increases my productivity in less time is a bonus, I think the ROI on the machine will pay off in no time as it will save in less preparation time of your foods.

    Appreciate the information.
