What Is A Candida Overgrowth?
Residing in your digestive tract, and cohabiting with other bacteria, Candida Albicans is a type of yeast. Your body needs many types of bacteria to function well and Candida Albicans is the most common type of microorganism in your gut.
It lends a hand with your digestion and helps you absorb nutrients from your food. But, things can go a bit nuts if candida starts to grow out of control. When this happens it causes a yeast infection or overgrowth known as candidiasis. This overgrowth can cause a lot of problems for your digestive tract as it breaks down the intestine wall and travels into the bloodstream.
As well as causing a leaky gut, candida overgrowth can also lead to many other health issues from digestive issues to mental and cognitive issues. Luckily there are candida supplements that work.
Several things can cause the candida albicans population to grow out of control and cause an imbalance with many symptoms soon emerging. Usually, a combination of factors, including overuse of broad spectrum antibiotics, a high sugar and refined carbohydrate diet, and a stressful lifestyle are the main culprits in causing this nasty overgrowth of candida yeast to multiply in your gut.
Some symptoms of a candida overgrowth include:
- Digestive issues – bloated stomach, diarrhea or constipation.
- Skin issues – rashes, hives, eczema, fungal nail infections, athletes foot.
- Cognitive issues – difficulty concentrating, brain fog and a lack of focus.
- Vaginal issues – itching, discharge.
- Diet issues – out of control cravings for sugar and carbohydrates.
- Allergy issues – increased seasonal allergies and itching of the ears.
The bad news is that once it starts to grow out of control, candida can quickly establish colonies and protective biofilms making it ever more difficult to kill off as it begins dominating your gut.
The good news is there are ways to treat a candida overgrowth naturally. By following an anti candida diet and taking some effective natural supplements you can start taking control of the overgrowth and restore the correct balance in your gut again.
When Does Candida Cause A Problem?
Candida normally lives inside the body and is kept in check by good bacteria and your immune system. It is found in the vagina, gut, mouth and throat as well as on the skin without causing any problems.
If Candida yeasts grows out of control it can become invasive as it enters deep into the body. In this way it can reach your internal organs such as the brain, heart and kidneys as well as the bloodstream. When Candida spreads to the bloodstream a wide range of symptoms may be felt including multiple organ failure, shock and fever that otherwise cannot be explained.
However, even before any of these more serious effects happen, Candida overgrowth can still cause a range of uncomfortable issues when it starts to grow out of control. Some of the most common issues are:
- Thrush – Thrush causes white patches on the tongue, lips and inside the mouth. Underneath these white patches there will be areas of inflamed red tissue which can become cracked and bleed.
- Esophagitis – An overgrowth here can show up as symptoms of difficulty swallowing and pain behind the chest bone.
- Vaginal Yeast Infections – This can cause severe itching and soreness accompanied by a thick vaginal curd like discharge.
How To Treat A Candida Overgrowth
The standard treatment for a Candida yeast overgrowth is with medications such as Nizoral and Fluconazole. These prescription medications work quickly and are effective in reducing the candida colonies.
However, as with most pharmaceuticals there can also be side effects. In addition, simply taking a standard medication does nothing to address the underlying cause of the overgrowth. When lifestyle and dietary changes are not addressed, the overgrowth is likely to return.
A small study published in the Townsend Letter showed that prescription medication was less effective than using natural supplements such as garlic and probiotics in maintaining long term improvement from Candida overgrowth.
To effectively treat a Candida overgrowth you need to follow 3 steps.
Step 1. Stop feeding the overgrowth.
Step 2. Kill off the candida overgrowth.
Step 3. Restore the good bacteria that keep candida in balance and prevent it from growing out of control.
Several highly effective natural antifungals can be used to kill off a yeast overgrowth including:
What Is Allimax ?
One long standing and effective antifungal for killing off candida overgrowth is garlic. This time kill study demonstrated that allicin, a compound found in garlic, was comparable to fluconazole in eliminating systemic candida albicans infection.
It is the ‘allinase’ and ‘alliin’ enzymes in garlic which react to produce ‘allicin’. And allicin is the biologically active form of garlic that works as an antifungal against yeast overgrowth. Allicin is thought of as the substance responsible for the health properties attributed to garlic.
Allimax is produced using a patented process and contains real bioactive (meaning it can be used by the body) allicin in each capsule. Using a special water flood reaction system, the producers of Allimax use fresh garlic and water to manufacture large quantities of stable allicin.
The resulting liquid is then freeze dried under carefully controlled conditions to ensure the allicin potency is maintained. Due to this process, each Allimax capsule contains a standardized and stable amount of allicin.
This method of producing allicin is more effective than several other commonly used manufacturing processes such as steam distillation, ageing, chopping or crushing garlic etc.
In an independent study by ConsumerLabs.com they found that many garlic supplements vary in their ability to generate allicin in laboratory tests. Aged garlic does not produce allicin, but of other non aged garlic supplements, almost a quarter were found to yield less allicin than the therapeutic amount.
Allimax is the only garlic supplement containing allicin. A few supplements containing garlic powder can produce some allicin, but this depends on your stomach condition.
Other brands of garlic supplements are reliant on your body producing allicin from the raw materials. Allimax differs to all other garlic supplements in that it already is allicin. Your body doesn’t have to convert anything, Allimax goes to work once dissolved by your stomach and is easily absorbed into your bloodstream.
Pro’s Of Allimax
- Contains 100% real bioactive and stabilized Allicin Powder 180 mg in each capsule.
- Odorless – No garlic aftertaste or smell.
- No artificial coloring or flavoring.
- Gluten Free
- Preservative Free.
Con’s Of Allimax
- Allimax is a little more expensive than other garlic supplements, however you are getting 100% allicin, the bioactive compound that goes to work straight away killing off your yeast infection.
Putting It All Together
If you are looking for candida supplements that work, try Allimax. I personally used it in rotation with some other antifungals to get rid of a yeast overgrowth and found it easy to use and best of all, it works. I felt confident knowing the active compound in Allimax was standardized, so I could be sure of the allicin dosage in each capsule.
